Last Saturday I took the girls to enjoy some Christmas activities. First we went to Haydan's school for Breakfast with Santa. It was a Polar Express Theme which means you got to come in your pajamas - always fun for kids. Before our group got to eat we were sent to the craft room where the girls got to make some snowflake ornaments.
The breakfast was exactly what I thought a two dollar breakfast would be - mediocre, but the girls didn't seem to mind!
We bought a ticket to get a picture with Santa, but the line was a mile long and we didn't feel like waiting, especially when we were going straight over to Cowboy Christmas to see the real Santa.
This Saturday always seems to be the coldest day of the year. The girls changed in the car and we headed over to Floyd Lamb (it's down the street from the school). We hung out in the car for a little bit, bundled up and headed over to see Santa.
We were the first ones there. Yea! Except for one, it wasn't the real Santa, and two, even though he was right there they weren't taking pictures yet. Santa smiled and waved at the girls for 15 minutes, then was taken away by someone for something. Grrr.
Bailey hiding from Santa.
Quinn was up for a smile but was more interested in the piles of leaves around the building where Santa was.
Haydan just looking cute.
After waiting for Santa for another 30 minutes I asked for my money back and we went to enjoy some of the other activities. Haydan was the only one who really wanted a picture, so I left it up to her. 45 minutes is a long time to wait and she was ready to go.
We went on a wagon ride around the park. It was fun, but at times a little scary. The guy was going really fast.
After the wagon ride we got in line to ride horses. (These lines moved fast.) If Dan had been there I would have asked for a turn! The girls had a lot of fun on the horses. Bailey was sad she couldn't ride one, but she did get to pet them.
This picture makes me laugh because it kind of looks like she's saying a prayer!
After the horse ride we headed over to the face paint table. My girls always love this.
I was a little frustrated by the whole Santa thing, but in the end we had fun. We went home watched Rudolph, ate carmel popcorn, and worked on Christmas gits. Not a bad Saturday after all!
