Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Dan: Dan stays busy with Young Mens, work, and being a wonderful husband and father. He took up fly fishing last year and loves it. He enjoys going on fishing trips with his dad (Wyoming, and various parts of Utah, Idaho this coming summer). He continues to try and interest the girls in fishing - no bites yet. Pun intended. Maybe he'll have more luck with a boy?!

Sarah: Sarah spent most of the year tired (pregnant twice) and then the last three months being busier than she has been in a long time. She participated in her Stake's Musical Review, which included three months of rehearsals. She's been teaching a preschool this year and also started a children's singing group. She looks forward to a much need Christmas break and the last three months of being pregnant.

Haydan: Haydan has been enjoying second grade this year. She continues to excel at reading, writing, and developing her talent for art. She finished her first trimester of school with good grades and a glowing report from her teacher. Haydan has reached some childhood milestones this year: learning to ride her bike without training wheels and turning eight. She is looking forward to being baptized the first weekend in January. Haydan is learning to be a good big sister and has a sensitive nature. She loves animals and drawing. She is a girl after her mom's heart because her favorite thing to do is to design and decorate bedrooms both on the computer and on paper.

Quinn: Quinn continues to be a charmer and has the unique ability to make friends where ever she goes. She is making terrific progress with her writing and will hopefully be reading before kindergarten next Fall. She also learned to ride a bike this year thanks to our friend. She still loves superheroes and spends most of her time dressed in a black leotard pretending to be Black Canary or Cat Woman. Quinn has a fun imagination and rarely sits still. Most of her playing involves her jumping off of things, with a little flying, and some running. She LOVES to ride her bike and jumps at the chance to take it to the park. She is generally loved by all who meet her and an absolute joy to have in our family.

Bailey: Bailey turned two this year and has become quite the precocious little girl. She is sugar and spice, sweet and sassy. She amazes everyone with her conversational skills and has her parents alternately laughing or groaning with her behavior.  She loves baby dolls, books, and, in her words, "being like a princess." She is well entrenched in the dress up phase of girl-hood. Bailey is our resident singer and can be heard singing around the house every day. She has a handful of songs she knows,  but also makes up her own. Her parents are amazed at how fast she can pick up lyrics to a song. Usually it only takes a couple of times of hearing a song before she knows most of the words to it. She once told a car full of people, "Be quiet. I'm singing." Bailey's favorite book is "Wild Things," and has most of it memorized. "Everyone Poops," by Taro Gomi, is a close second.

We hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to an exciting new year!

I like the update/year wrap up! You seem quite busy so I hope your last trimester gives you more time to rest!
